DOWN THE OLD PLANK ROAD: THE NASHVILLE SESSIONS |

A
host of new and established country, bluegrass and roots
music artists have joined forces with the world renowned
Chieftains for a series of historic Nashville sessions
celebrating the ties tht bind Ireland's enduring musical
heritage to the heartland of America.
Titled 'Down the Old Plank Road' and set for release
on RCA Victor, September 17, the album's fourteen tracks
feature performances by Vince Gilll, Martina McBride,
Lyle Lovet and Patti Griffin. Legendary instrumentalist
Earl Scruggs as well as the eclectic Bela Fleck are also
highlighted, as are the bluegrass virtuosos Del McCoury,
Ricky Skaggs, Alison krauss and Jeff White. 'Down the
Old Plank Road' also spotlights special guests john hiatt
along with the duos Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings and
Buddy and Julie Miller. The album is produced by Chieftains
founder Paddy Moloney. |
