I LOVE THE CHIEFTAINS! My friends all think I'm weird for liking Celtic music, but I don't care! And just so everyone knows, I think the coolest thing would be for the Chieftains to play video game music. *blushes* yeah, it's weird. Oh, well!!

Helen Christensen  [22/02/2006]

The Montana Gaelic Cultural Society would like to offer, as a raffle prize, an all expense paid trip to a Chieftains concert in the western part of the US in 2007. The drawing would be in August. I know you don't have your bookings nailed down that far in advance, but is there a chance you'll be back in Seattle, Denver, Salt Lake or California next January? If we know you are going to be in the general vicinity, we'll make it work. Thanks in advance. Helen Christensen

Wonderful show in Seattle last night. Just wondering . Matt Molloy played a tune..."Easter Snow"...have the Chieftains recorded that on any album. To me, that was a very haunting song, brought a tear to my eye. Thank you so much for the show....I even braved to up and join the dance line during the encore....still trying to catch my breath!! I have long been a fan of the Chieftains, seeing the first in Cardiff, Wales, in the 1980's and again in Christchurch , New Zealand , in 2004. Who was in the lineup in Christchurch? The fiddler( female), I'm sure I saw on a home video of a "parish" competition in County Roscommon in the 80's. Am I correct?

I barely remember listening to Paddy compliments of my mothers father William Phillips a native of Pontnygwend, Wales and his playing his tin whistle. So when I hear a new piece from the Chieftans, you bring a good tear to my eyes. God Bless and keep everfaithful. Thanks for all your music!

my family came over from county cork around 1874. Mr. Maloney looks exactely like most of my male family members. Did he have any relative that immigrated to Pennsylvania around that time. My great-great grandparents names were Michael Maloney and Maria O'Rourke. They had several sons but my great grandfater (John Thomas Maloney) who died in August 1961, used to write his nephews in Ireland but we have lost touch with them.
