The Chieftains to headline 2012 Celtic Colours International Festival

The Chieftains return to Nova Scotia to headline the 16th annual Celtic Colours International Festival, taking place from Oct. 5 to 13, 2012 across Cape Breton isle.

Besides nine days of concerts, dances, workshops, outdoor activities and late-night festival club sessions, Celtic Colours 2012 will also continue its Fiddletree and Roots to the Future projects, as well as hold a concert dedicated to Cape Breton songs of work and protest.

The festival kicks off on Friday, Oct. 9, with the My Island Too concert at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre, including MacMaster, Fiddlers’ Bid and the Asham Stompers, and wraps up Saturday, Oct. 13, with 50 Years of Celtic Charm at Sydney’s Centre 200, with the Chieftains, Battlefield Band and more.
